A month after Chutes implemented a $5 one-time deposit requirement to get up to 200 free messages per day, it is launching new subscription plans.
Chutes’ new subscription plans include four tiers with varying daily request limits. The one-time $5 deposit for 200 free requests per day is no longer available. However, Chutes will continue to honor existing benefits for users who have already made the deposit.
Chutes’ New Monthly Subscription Plans
Starting August 4th, 2025, Chutes will introduce four monthly subscription plans.
- Base: $3 per month with a limit of 300 requests per day.
- Plus: $10 per month with a limit of 2,000 requests per day.
- Pro: $20 per month with a limit of 5,000 requests per day.
- Enterprise: Custom billing price based on client requirements and Chutes’ discretion.
The Base, Plus, and Pro plans include a “pay as you go” option, allowing users to send additional requests after reaching their daily limits, with Chutes billing them separately. The Plus and Pro plans also offer email support and priority support, respectively.
There is no longer a free tier option available with a one-time deposit. The $3 per month tier is the cheapest way for new users to access Chutes’ services. However, Chutes will still provide 200 free requests per day for users who have already made the one-time $5 deposit.

Chutes’ New Plans Are Not Worth It For AI Roleplay
Most users who use Chutes for AI roleplay do so to access DeepSeek R1 and V3 models. Chutes’ new subscription plans are not worth the cost, and you would be better off paying DeepSeek directly and using their official API services for your AI roleplay.
A $3 deposit with DeepSeek will last you at least 2 months based on your usage, especially if you roleplay during their discounted hours when their prices drop by 75 percent.
In July 2025, we used the official DeepSeek API during discounted hours to generate 225 messages with DeepSeek V3 and 178 messages with DeepSeek R1. We used a total of 2.2 million tokens, and our overall cost for the month was $0.30.
Even if your usage is six times ours, you’ll only spend $1.8 a month through the official DeepSeek API compared to $3 with Chutes.
Alternatively, you can use OpenRouter for 50 free messages a day, or deposit $10 into your OpenRouter account to get 1000 free messages a day. However, keep in mind that according to their current terms, if you don’t use the deposited credits within 12 months, OpenRouter has the right to expire unused credits.
